get creative in the garden

Our gardens aren't just places to enjoy plants and trees. They're great spaces, too. Huge open air galleries. With no walls. No size constraints. Like Parc Glynllifon, where you can literally reach out and touch the outdoor sculpture. Or Bodnant Garden and Plas Newydd, where you can catch an outdoor theatre performance. No stuffy auditoriums here though. These are different. Natural amphitheatres. But unlike indoor venues, it's best to take an umbrella.

Simon O'Rourke takes art to a whole new level of danger. Talk about living on the edge. Once upon a time he was a children's book illustrator. Now he swings from ropes, chainsaw in hand, and carves sculptures from trees. His chainsaw exploits have taken him all over

The capital of unusual antique and contemporary garden statuary, Garden Art near Betws y Coed is also home to the world's largest hedge maze. At 2 acres it's bigger than the previous record-holder at Longleat, and features an archway that's bigger than the laburnum tunnel at Bodnant.
